Courses past and present.
My name is Phanuel Mariano and I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the Union College in the Mathematics Department. I was previously an Assistant Professor at the University of New Haven. Before that, I was a Golomb Visiting Assistant Professor at Purdue University from 2018-2019. I received a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Connecticut in 2018 and a B.A. in mathematics from Western Connecticut State University in 2012. I work in the intersection of probability, analysis and sub-Riemannian geometry.
My adviser at UConn was Professor Maria Gordina. I worked with Professor Rodrigo Bañuelos at Purdue.
My research is supported in part by an NSF Grant Award #2316968.
I'm originally from Volta Redonda, Brazil. I'm also a big fan of UConn women's and men's basketball and regularly go to games every year.
