Exam Policy:

This course will have one in-class midterm exam and a final exam. The midterm exam will be during the evening (I will compensate you for this time by canceling a class before the exam). The evening period gives more flexibility for extra time, if needed, and provides better opportunities to handle those with special needs. Students in the past have found the evening exams to be preferable to in-class ones. See the course calendar for the dates of the exams.

As with homework, you should write in complete, English sentences when you write up your solutions on an exam. See the homework policy for details.

There will be no make-up or early exams without my prior approval at least a week in advance. The final exam can not be rescheduled, so do not purchase (or allow your parents to purchase) airline tickets for before the final exam. See the grading policy for a breakdown of what each exam will be worth.

If you have a documented learning disability for which you should receive extra time on exams, you must inform me of this by the end of the second week of class, so that proper arrangements can be made for your accommodation.

Finally, in the event you are quarantined due to COVID during the midterm exam, but are still able to do work and wish to take it, I will make it available to you via email at the time the class is taking it. See the COVID policy for details on how this will work.
