DPVC (CV/Courses) [Top][Up][Next]

The Geometry Center, University of Minnesota:

Summer Institute, Summer '95.
This is a ten-week research experience for undergraduates held at the Center each summer. The students work individually or in groups with a staff-member at the Center on projects that involve mathematical research and computer use. The projects culminate in a written report and an oral presentation. Many students produce software or hypertext documents as a part of their projects.

Duties: I supervised two students doing individual projects. One student generated hypertext pages for our "topological zoo" of interesting mathematical objects that includes interactive pictures, movies showing slices or other views of the objects, formulas, and data files. The second student was involved in a project to port a piece of geometry software from the Macintosh to the IBM PC.
