Quiz # 1 Review Sheet:
The quiz on Friday will consist of definitions, and will be brief.
Your wording on a definition must be precise, and you will be
required to give both a verbal and symbolic form. You may be asked to
produce examples or verify that something satisfies the requirements
of a definition. The definitions will be chosen from among:
- A is a subset of B, A = B
- A union B, A intersect B, A - B,
A symmetric difference B, CX(A)
- P(A)
- A x B
- P <=> Q
- Contrapositive, Converse, Inverse
- Negations of "and", "or", "for all", "there exists", "=>"
- x is rational.
- The sets N, Z, Q, R, cN,
cZ, Ø
- Intervals (a,b), [a,b], etc.
