Corrections to Exam 1:
[Corrections are shown in bold]
- In problem 3a, the order of the transformations at the end of the
problem is revered; "alpha = tau of sigma of rho" should read "alpha
= tau of rho of sigma". The words at the beginning of the problem are
in the correct order. The problem should read:
Show that this isometry is a composition of a reflection, a rotation
and a translation, and find the equations for alpha. That is, find
sigmam, rhoP,theta and tauQ,R so that
alpha equals tauQ,R of rhoP,theta of
sigmam.
- In problem 3b, "transformation" should read "isometry". So the
problem should read:
Show that any isometry alpha can be written as a
composition of a translation, a rotation, and possibly a reflection.
