50. (a) Vertical monochrome bands indicate repeated return, after a number of iterations equal to the number of columns in the Kelly plot, to the same bin. This does not necessarily indicate a "noisy" cycle, however, unless the whole plot (in this vertical range) consists of monochrome bands.

(b) Horizontal monochrome bands indicate a sequence of consecutive values all within a single bin - a "noisy" fixed point.
