AMS SPECIAL SESSION IN ALGEBRAIC TOPOLOGY
IN HONOR OF BILL SINGER

Saturday and Sunday
October 11-12, 2008
Middletown, CT (Wesleyan University)

Organizers:
Mark Hovey (Wesleyan University) and Kathryn Lesh (Union College)

There will be approximately eighteen 20-minute talks at this special session. We also hope to have a longer talk discussing Bill's work, and a banquet on Saturday night.

As usual with AMS sectional meetings, there is no money available for honoraria or travel support. There is a modest registration fee ($40 AMS members, $60 nonmembers, $5 students).

Middletown is the home of Wesleyan University, where the conference will be held. It is approximately two hours drive from both Boston and New York City. The closest airport is Bradley International (BDL), about a 40-minute drive away.

If you are interested in speaking at this special session, please e-mail a brief abstract by August 1 to Kathryn Lesh, leshk@union.edu . Graduate students, new Ph. D.'s, and members of underrepresented minorities are especially encouraged to submit abstracts.
