## Abstract:

The Fibonacci numbers are given bu the sequence 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, ..., where each number is obtained by adding the two numbers before it. The Golden Mean is the number $\frac{1+\sqrt{5}}{2}$, and has a long and illustrious history in mathematics, art, and architecture, among other fields. We'll use generating functions to derive a connection between the Fibonacci numbers and the Golden Mean, and look at some interesting consequences.
