Abstract:

I will explain how Isaac Newton's discovery in the XVIIth century for finding zeroes of real valued functions finds applications in complex dynamics nowadays. This will lead us to discover some fractal sets and to discuss a little bit what could be a definition of chaos. The talk is intended for undergraduate students.
