The Principle of Competitive Exclusion in Population Biology

Abstract:

This principle, also referred to as Gause's Law states that two species cannot stably coexist when they compete for the same growth limiting resource. We derive a model describing the interaction between the species and present key points of a rigorous mathematical proof of the principle.
