Hunting Odd Perfect Numbers
Professor John McCleary
October 1, 2001
Bailey Hall 201
The notion of a perfect number was known to the ancients. In this talk I will describe how we can restrict the kind of number that might qualify as an odd perfect number. We can know a lot about such integers without knowing a single example! Or are there any?
There will be a dinner with Professor McCleary the previous evening, Sunday September 30, at 6 PM. The dinner is free for Union students who sign up. If interested, contact Bill Zwicker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
