In this talk, Emelie Kenney will give some background on the AIDS epidemic, speak generally about modeling methods, and describe a project that was worked on with a student in which they used artificial neural networks to classify patients as asymptomatic HIV+, symptomatic HIV+, and HIV- according to levels of certain chemicals in the brain.
