Stabilization of two-species competition models in the chemostat

We examine stabilization of two two-species competition models in the chemostat. The first is for a single growth-limiting resource and the second is for two resources. In the latter case the issue of resource types is considered. The geometric control technique we use is feedback linearization. Local stabilization is achieved in the cases of one resource and perfectly substitutable resources. Stabilization fails for essential resources.
